I recently met Annie MacDonald. She has had her own version of Tuesdays with Morrie, and from those meeting has authored a children's book complete with playful illustrations.
What's up with Poppo? follows young Jenny as she visits her Poppo on Sundays and begins to notice the physical changes in her grandfather as his illness progresses. The changes confuse and scare her. So she asks her mommy and daddy, "What's up with Poppo?" Her mother, reluctant at first to admit Poppo's illness, joins Jenny's father in answering Jenny's questions simply, honestly and in a comforting way, helping Jenny understand and adjust to the new ways her Poppo is different. |
